BOIS + STONE
2016, Taglio laser su acciaio inox brunito
175 x 65 x 0,3 cm
Torino (It), Studio C&C

This piece represents the latest evolution of a series born in the summer of 2016. The project was catalyzed by a stark tax notice from our accountant—the infamous F24 form—which threatened the very survival of our studio.
In a desperate bid to keep afloat, we raided the workshop for our most precious materials: a collection of bronze-cast larch bark. We welded these organic fragments onto laser-cut sheets of oxidized Corten steel, shaping silhouettes of small larch groves. The resulting seven landscapes formed an archipelago of islands and vessels—a symbolic fleet built to weather the financial storm. We retain the collection's original name today as a testament to the resilience of that summer.
